I wanted to share a blog that my friend, Kayla Jones wrote a couple of days ago. These are some GOOD words!!
“hey friends!
we’re on month two of life in Guatemala and it’s been so so sweet. we are walking on the Lords promise & it’s been so fulfilling to grow in intimacy with Him.
this morning I read Psalm 16 that says “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasure forevermore.” Learning and living out the fact a lot recently that I can’t experience the fullness of joy unless I am as close to the Father as His right hand. ¡Amen y Amen!
one of my favorite parts of being in Guatemala has been working with worship room which is a ministry that pushes to “share Gods love through worship” but also comes with a great group of people that are easy to love. my team has had the opportunity to do ministry with them on tuesday and also go to their worship nights on thursday, last thursday’s worship night led into praying healing over tons of people that were there, my friends and I prayed over these ladies who were both experiencing physical pain. it was a really cool moment to not only embody the healing authority that Jesus gives us but to also restore hope in these women who have woken up with this battle each day for years. later that night my friend Kourtney said to me “ How cool is it that these hands that we used to sin with we now use to heal and bring praise?” first of all it’s way cool!! & this led into me thinking & just thanking God for the radical redemption He’s brought in my life and allowing my hands to be a testimony of that.
some thoughts i’ve had…
hands that once shook with fear & anxiety are now being lifted as a physical representation of reverence.
hands that I once allowed to dishonor now are praying healing & redemption over the people who are walking through what I used to.
hands that couldn’t have been so opened to the truth without feeling the weight of the worlds lies.
today and for a long time i’m grateful for a God that brings revelation & glory through something as small as hands.“
prayer of healing captured by worship room:
I am constantly blown away at how good God is. God is a redeemer. In exchange for my corruption, He gave me an abundant life. He called an unqualified daughter straight into His arms. What an honor. All glory to God for taking these filthy, dirty hands, and allowing them to be used for His kingdom. Wow. Thank you, Jesus!
“…and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”
Colossians 1:12-14
Walk in the kingdom, you rescued, redeemed, and forgiven sons and daughters!
🙂
If you don’t already know, C squad has one more month here in Guatemala, and then we’re headed to…COSTA RICA!!! Please be praying over our remaining time here, as well as the transition coming in a few short weeks.
Love this. You can see how much you love His forgiveness and redemption. I’m sure He is thankful for your awareness of His goodness.
Kourtney so excited to hear you’ve plugged into the ministry at the worship room. May the Holy Spirit continue to use you in lifting others into a personal relationship with the Father. Lord give Kourtney and the rest of team wisdom and compassion to work with those individuals you bring their way. Can’t wait to see you all later this month!
Kourtney and Kayla, We serve a God of redemption! Hallelujah! It is His great pleasure to redeem a thousand things in our lives at every turn. How much He must smile upon His children when they recognize it, step deeper into His redeeming love, and give Him the glory. You may never see your hands quite the same way again.
